Union House Arts welcomes applications for workshops biannually. Once in the early spring, for spring/summer workshops; and once in late summer, for fall/winter applications. Calls are open to artists, crafters, educators, and anyone with a skill that they would like to share with our community!
Applications must be submitted by March 31st, 2025 at 11:59pm NT to be considered.
UHA currently pays CARFAC rates for workshops. For 2025, Artists will be paid $520 for workshops less than four hours, and $728 for workshops more than four hours. Should the artist propose a multi-day workshop, UHA will negotiate with them to find an appropriate fee. This generally will be no less than $40.00/h.
Workshops will be selected by our Programming Committee and evaluated based on:
- Feasibility
- Cost
- Relevance to Port Union and surrounding communities
- Diversity of programming
Additionally, we will prioritize workshops that include skills that fall in line with sustainable, land-based practices, as well as workshops that are relevant to the 2024 Heritage NL Craft at Risk list.
