2024 Artist in Residence

Kendall Sweeney is a Newfoundland-based artist with an interdisciplinary practice ranging in
mediums. In 2022, Kendall graduated from Memorial University, Grenfell Campus with a
Bachelor in Visual Arts, Fine Arts (BFA). And now, she is completing a Bachelor in Business
Administration (BBA).
Today, her practice focuses on hyper-realistic and large-scale graphite drawings of intricate
objects such as wishing stones and, more recently, lingerie sets. Kendall renders the content of
her work with true-to-life qualities, relying on shading and scale to transform standard reference
photos into charged moments for audiences to experience and interpret.
