UHA Garden Gathering

We’ve got a big summer celebration planned for Sunday, August 25! And we’ve got so much great stuff lined up for it! We’re talking live music with Terry Lodge and Friends, a BBQ pop-up by The Harbourside Inn and Cafe, a drop-in songwriting workshop with Valmy and Katie Baggs, tarot card readings, a flash tattoo pop-up, face painting, and some all-ages arts and crafts activities, too. You won’t want to miss this one, so mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!
There is no admission fee for our Garden Gathering, however some activities will have a cost (marked *).
We’ll have a door prize (donated by Fisher’s Loft), as well as drinks (donated by the NL Cider Company)!

Looking for More Details?
Songwriting Workshop – 1:00-3:30pm
Join St. John’s-based singer-songwriter’s Katie Baggs & Valmy for their pop-up Songwriting Workshop. They will give an introductory talk about approaches to songwriting and open the floor for attendees to respond to theme prompts by sharing any thoughts or phrases they would like to inspire lyrical material. This workshop will feature performances of Katie Baggs’ and Valmy’s original music and songs created with and by attendee’s during the workshop. Feel free to bring an instrument, or something to write with. No experience necessary, all are welcome, let’s create 🙂

BBQ Pop Up with Harbourside Inn and Cafe – 1-6pm
They’re serving: Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Hotdogs, Italian sausage on a bun. And a Crispy Cod fillet on a bun, topped with shredded coleslaw and Tartar sauce. Yum!

Tattoo Pop Up with Em (@neocorticalhoney)
Em is taking bookings (via her website, neocorticalhoney.com) for a multi-day pop up at UHA, but will leave some room for walk-ins during our Garden Gathering. Come early to secure a spot! She’ll be offering a selection of flash tattoos and freehand designs. Or if you don’t want to take a chance on missing out, book ahead!
