We’re Hiring: Gallery Attendant

Gallery Attendant

Wage: /h, 35h/week
July 1 – August 26 (8 weeks)

Please note that this position is for a youth under 30 and is intended to be an entry level position into building skills in the arts sector, this position is pending funding.

Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, and the Programming Director, the Gallery Attendant will be responsible for:

  • greeting visitors during open hours
  • supporting programming such as workshops, exhibition receptions and artist talks, 
  • keeping track of sales of merchandise, donations, and memberships
  • track visitation numbers, including attendance from events and workshops
  • Aid visitors by providing information about the Gallery and the Port Union area
  • Support community outreach initiatives
  • Work with the Gallery Coordinator to process and track data on visitor numbers, workshop attendance, memberships, and project impact using Microsoft Excel
  • Document events with photos
  • Cleaning and tidying the gallery daily, including bathrooms, kitchen, and other high-trafficked areas

The Gallery Attendant will assist the Gallery Coordinator or Programming Director with tasks as needed. This position is intended for an entry-level individual who may not have any direct experience working in an artist-run-center, but who has an enthusiastic interest in the arts.
