Cordage & Looped Basket Workshop with Jessica Brouder
July 11th 2026

Join Artist in Residence Jessica Brouder and learn how to make your own cordage and looped basket out of natural and upcycled materials!
This workshop is an introduction to an exciting, useful and versatile skill – cordage making. During this workshop you will learn how to make cordage from readily available plants, used textiles, paper and plastic. You will also learn how to build a looped net basket. We will talk about the ways this cordage can be integrated into your own practices. Along the way, Jessica will show artists working with these materials, techniques and ideas.
All materials are included, but feel free to bring along: washed and dried plastics (shipping packaging/bread or vegetable bags), used textiles that you like or that holds meaning for you – shirts, t-shirts, bedsheets or baby clothes for example (natural fibres – silk or cotton, nothing that falls apart when cut e.g. corduroy or terry cloth), scissors, note/sketch book and pencil.
The workshop will take place on July 11th from 12pm-5pm.
Registration is required and spots are limited. Register today by clicking the link below!
