Margaret Cadigan is an emerging multidisciplinary artist from the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. Her practice centers around the relationship between human beings and our environment. She advocates for slowing down and having compassion as we confront our environmental crisis.

Her primary focus is textile art, using the time and consideration involved in stitching and dyeing fibres to reflect the compassion needed to care for the Earth. She is currently researching natural dye processes and embracing the Slow Movement to reduce the environmental impact of her practice. Margaret has exhibited and curated several exhibitions in Corner Brook, NL. She recently completed a BFA (Visual Art) from Grenfell Campus and has received many prestigious awards during her education, including the Reginald Shepherd and Helen Parsons Shepherd Award (2025), Division of Fine Arts Mercy/Presentation Education Fund Award (2025), and a Memorial 100 Scholarship (2026).

Margaret Cadigan is also the 2026 Union House Arts Residency Award (UHARA) Winner!
