I was born in 1971 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and graduated from the National Academy of Arts and Architecture. Initially, I worked as a designer, but in 2014, I focused solely on painting. I had a successful career in Ukraine, with numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ukraine and Europe. I participated in a significant project with Ukrainian artists within the framework of the Venice Biennale 2022-2023.

Unfortunately, I had to leave my homeland due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Since June 2022, I have lived in St. John’s, Canada.

Each of my works has a philosophical and symbolic subtext. I am most interested in human sensuality, symbolism, surreal metamorphoses and transformations. I often depict figurative compositions, for example, women in combination with geometric shapes. My first painting that I painted after arriving in Canada was called “House”, 2022, which depicts a woman with snails against the background of a burning house. This is my story, the story of Ukrainian women fleeing the war.
