I am a queer Jewish writer and visual artist based in New Bedford, Massachusetts. I hold an M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from the University of Montana and a B.A. from Stanford University, where I studied history, folklore, and gender and sexuality. I’ve been the recipient of two Fulbright awards, a 2016-2017 ETA grant to Mongolia and a 2021-2022 Creative Writing grant to Lithuania. My forthcoming novel, Yid, was a finalist for the 2023 Pen America/Bellwether Prize for Socially Engaged Fiction. I have published work in StoryQuarterly, The Jewish Quarterly, The Radical Jewish Calendar, Shoreline of Infinity Science Fiction Magazine, and others.

As a visual artist, I draw inspiration from folklore, traditional Jewish arts, and the underrepresented histories of queer and working-class ancestors. I use ceramics, printmaking, collage, metal, textiles, and zines to tell stories about labor justice, the LGBTQ+ past and future, and human relationships to nature. I also create unconventional Judaica, from Judean pillar figurines to ceramic amulets. Much of my art incorporates secondhand or salvaged materials. I have been an artist-in-residence at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, Art Farm, and the Creative Re-Use Center of Rhode Island.
