Nature NL x UHA: Nature Walk and Plant Rubbing Workshop

Participants will meet at Union House Arts and walk part of Murphy’s Cove Trail with Nature NL to learn about identifying wetland plants and the importance of our wetlands for our environment. Participants can also forage some plant material to bring back with them!

The afternoon workshop will focus on creating rubbings from various materials, and how this technique may be used as a form of printmaking. Participants will be able to produce multiple rubbings and then explore other papers and marking materials.Folks may also experiment with using rubbings as a jumping off point for more artistic creation, and discuss examples of this technique in art history.
