Nora de Mariaffi is an artist and arts worker based in St. John’s, NL. When de Mariaffi was 8 years old, her grandmother sat her down in front of a sewing machine for the first time and taught her how to thread the bobbin and guide the fabric under the foot, she hasn’t stopped designing and making since.
She holds a degree in Community Arts Education from Concordia University and a certificate in Graphic Design from OCAD. Currently, she works as Marketing Coordinator & Graphic Designer for Lawnya Vawnya. She is co-admin at I Don’t Do Comics, a Canadian comic publication open to everyone. In 2023, she received an ArtsNL and Canada Council for the Arts Grant to complete her first solo series of work, Little Miss Remembers. De Mariaffi was born in Ontario, studied in Quebec, and has now returned to the province she calls home, Newfoundland and Labrador.
