My practice is rooted in tying together incomplete narratives. As a queer person, my imagination is a necessary bridge to better comprehend our concealed histories. My process begins by sifting through archival visual culture, such as old magazine clippings, family photographs, or imagery from classic Hollywood cinema. From these secondhand fragments, and considering my lived experiences, my figurative paintings, drawings, and prints use a restricted palette of muted tones to reflect this limited historical record. Encircled in longing, grief, dreaming, and desire, my practice seeks to honour queer pasts in order to inform joyful futures.
