Introducing our 2021 Artists-in-Residence! Stay tuned for workshops and public programming!
K. Claire MacDonald
July 20 – August 9 2021
K’jipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki / Halifax, Nova Scotia
K. Claire MacDonald is an artist and jewellery designer based in Halifax, NS. She is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design where she completed a BFA with a Major in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing. Working primarily in metal, she utilizes her technical training to explore both functional jewellery and sculptural objects. In her practice she explores themes of memory and connection to place. Her work is characterized by a mix of organic forms and soft, graceful lines, often serving as a tiny mementos of the coastal landscapes of Atlantic Canada.
Claire’s 2021 residency is contingent on the Atlantic Bubble being open in July. Union House Arts will not be hosting out-of-province artists if it does not adhere to current public health guidelines. We are cautiously optimistic and hope to host Claire this summer!
