Union House Arts is accepting applications for exhibitions in 2020 (1 Slot, June – August) and 2021 (3 Slots, between May and November).
UHA aims to build a thoughtful space for community residents and artists to work and share together; to expand ideas about what art can be, how and where it can be shown, and to create an environment that is accessible to people of all experiences and educations. The space is experimental in nature with a focus on place-based programming and knowledge building and sharing. We prioritize exhibitions that engage with place-specificity, contemporary rurality, indigeneity, land and ocean resources, geology, tourism, and local community histories.
We are excited to accept applications from artists and curators working across all media. Exhibitions may take place in our gallery space (see layout below) or in a site-specific location in the area. Please do sufficient research prior to proposing work in a space outside the gallery.
Exhibition applications must include:
- A proposal
- Artist statement or biography
- Images (10 max for individual artist, 15 max for a collaborative exhibition)
- Image list
- Outline of technical equipment and support needed
All submissions must be sent as email attachments and must not exceed 25 MB. Please compile all text documents in one PDF. Images may be included in the PDF or attached as JPGs.
Please send applications to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline February 1st, 2020
Please note that our exhibitions are all pending funding. We are committed to paying professional fees to artists and will not program exhibitions without sufficient funding in place.
